PROS AND CONS OF BEING A
MULTI INSTUMENTALIST
Isn’t
it fun to have the skills to play multiple instruments like drums,
piano, guitar, bass all on our own? Having the confidence to rock the
stage with your multiple skills. That’s is exactly what a
multi-instrumentalist does. We all know that one person in our life
who always charms everybody around him with his guitar and his
skills. Every college has a star student that flaunts his drumming
skills. But you know a cherry on top is when a single person can play
multiple instruments alone. Technically saying a
multi-instrumentalist is a person who plays two or more musical
instruments at a professional level of proficiency and after these companies hire instrumentalist . But just like a
coin which has two faces, being a multi-instrumentalist also has two
aspects.
If
a person is experiencing some pros of being a multi-instrumentalist
he/she will face some cons as well.

PROS
- You’ll never be bored: there comes a time when everybody gets tired and sick of their profession’s monotony no matter how much they love their profession and need some change. But if you are a multi-instrumentalist you have a number of instruments to play. Thus, you will never get bored.
- You get to showcase your skills: when you are a multi-instrumentalist you get the liberty to show your skills on various instruments.
- Better and high opportunities: if you are an individual with knowledge of multiple instruments you always get more opportunities as compared to others because you can work with different bands.
- You always have swag: just think about the charm a guitar player has and to add to it if he knows other instruments as well his charm gets doubled. So he has a swag of his own.
CONS
1.
Time-consuming:
learning new instruments is very time-consuming. As you already play
an instrument you know how much practice and devotion it takes to
learn an instrument.

Needs more money:
learn to play an instrument is way more costly than any coaching you
take for academics. When you have already spent thousands on learning
an instrument before and now planning to learn a new instrument be
ready to bear the expenses.
3.
You cannot master any particular instrument:
as it is always said, jack of all trades, master you none. When you
play multiple instruments you cannot master any of them.
4.
Stuck in confusion:
some of the multi-instrumentalists get confused in changing the
techniques from one instrument to another. This is one of the major
drawbacks of being a multi-instrumentalist.

Time and devotion get divided:
when you play multiple instruments your time and devotion get divide
among all the instruments you wish to play.
